Process and Equipment Selection of Revamping Galvanizing Line to Galvalume Line

This paper is based on a relocation and revamping project in China. The existing line was designed for GI production. After revamping, it can produce both GI and GL productions. The equipment in degreasing section, annealing furnace, zinc pots, air knife, after pot cooling section and post-treatment section were modified to meet the requirements of GL production This paper introduces the process characteristics of galvalume production, and analyzes the difference between the process of galvanizing and galvalume lines. The process and equipment modifications of revamping GI line to GL line were presented. And also the selection of major equipment and determination of parameters were discussed in the paper. This paper provided reference for the similar project for future.
