Development of Hot Rolled TS780MPA Steel Sheet with High Yield Ratio for Automobile

Fulfilling the demand for steel in automobile industry, which pursues lightweight, good formability and higher strength meets the increasingly stringent requirements of environmental protection laws and regulations. Hot rolled TS780MPa steel using the nano-precipitation metallurgical technology has been developed to satisfy it. To gain ferrite grain refinement and TiC nano-precipitation to enhance its strength, it has been designed not only the chemical compositions of the steel with the【Ti】＆【Cr】alloying elements, but also suitable parameters of hot rolling processes to achieve required mechanical properties and increase it's tensile strength stably at above 800MPa. The steel with 1.8~6.0mm thickness had been commercialized in China Steel since 2007.
