In the past Garrett coilers where used for small coil weights and the quality of the finished products regarding scratches and other defects were the main concern. Demands have since then also focused on bigger coil weights, lower coiling temperatures and higher productivity. Recently demands for a faster cooling rate of the coils after coiling have been increasing. This article intends to illustrate the DMH Garrett coiler design and recent development of the same.
