• POSCO has developed new high performance steel for bridge and building, HSB690, HSA650 • This developed steel shows 800MPa class of tensile strength, yield ratio lower than 85% and good toughness • Evaluation of welded joints produced by submerged arc welding (SAW) and flux cored arc welding (FCAW) revealed that newly developed HSB690 also has good weldability • The welded joints of HSB690 satisfied the required fatigue strength regardless of plate thickness • The developed steel is expected to expand the application scope to many building and bridge structures.
