As the most promising technology, the rotary hearth furnace (RHF) process has developed
very rapidly in recently decade. Herein, combined with experimental research and
engineering application for RHF process on the metallurgical dusts containing zinc and iron,
the influence of carbon ratio, reduction temperature and reduction time on dezincification and
metallization rate were investigated. The results showed that the dezincification and
metallization rate could reach more than 90% and 70% respectively, when the carbon oxygen
mole ratio was 1.0, reduction temperature was 1250 ℃ and reduction time was 25min. It is
provable for the dezincification and reutilization of metallurgical dusts containing zinc and
iron by RHF process.
