Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corp. Sakai Large Shape Mill started its operation in October 1961 as a first large section mill in Japan employing universal mills. Today we produce high quality products such as H-shape, Steel Sheet pile and Unequal-sided angle. In the market of steel materials for oil and gas field, European standard is adopted for product on as a standard norm system for onshore plants, offshore structures. In the standard, it requires full-length-ultrasonic-test and special product identification, such as die stamp, stencil and color coding. We used to carry out these work by manual paint marking operation. We have installed the device which can automatically work. The content that this device can support is as follows. Die stamp ：(1) cast number, (2) steel number, (3) manufacturer’s name, (4) stamp of the inspection representative Stencil ：(1) item size, (2) steel number, (3) cast number, (4) product identification number (5) manufacturer’s name, (6) purchase order number Color coding ：Color > blue, yellow, green, white Width >50mm Number > one or two diagonal bands Length >500mm other >resist weathering for at least six months This devise is operated remotely, so it can work safely. As a result, we could accept a lot of order for that kind of steel materials.
