The Development of Work Order Contract-Out Supply Chain System

The existing E-commerce system of CSC’s Work Order Contract-out integrates its Plant Engineering & Maintenance Department, suppliers, and in-company customers, which marks the achievement of its first target to integrate the entire process of work order, from in-company application, planning, and contract-out to outsourcing’s manufacturing, delivery and payment. Subsequently, a steel mill maintenance supply chain system has been built based on an integrated Internet platform consisting of money flow, material flow and information flow, thus completing a whole supply chain from supplier, planner, to customer. The E-commerce system of contract-out work order is defined as a community type E-commerce system. Since spare parts and maintenance service is directly linked with the quality and quantity of the products, the expected standard for their suppliers are extremely high in aspects including quality, delivery, cost and service. The fully computerized work order contract-out system, from a customer’s application to actually manufacturing, answers the needs for process innovation, job simplification and automation. When integrated with E-commerce, all the work like application, planning, inquiry, manufacturing, delivery and payment can be completed on the website platform. When the work order is completed, the process analysis information will be given to the customer end for their comments. This supply chain system is an ideal solution in that it seamlessly connects the customer, the Department, and the suppliers. This paper illustrates the development as well as the performance of this unique maintenance supply chain system.
