For many years, roll suppliers have been providing after sales service to their rolling mill customers, however it is clear some lacking experience in the complex operational relationships between rolling mill operation and roll usage. In order to improve the customer supplier relationship, Villares Rolls has formed a new group of experts able to assess mill conditions and recommend improvements to the use of rolls in rolling mill settings. “Rolling Mill Solutions” (RMS) was conceived to generate solutions for Rolling Mill Customers with a focus of work concentrated in Rolls Shops and Rolling Mills in order to improve product quality. RMS is constituted by specialists and professionals in the area of Rolls, supported by a structure with partners, specialists, technicians, engineers and researchers. The studies and characterizations are supported by analysis of microstructure, wear phenomena, laboratory tests and operational simulations using finite elements analysis.
