Publisher - TaeguTec Ltd
Category - General Novel
TaeguTec tungsten carbide composite rolls have been continuously developed and improved to find unique and flexible design for application at various rolling stands and different requirements. The hydraulic clamping system, using good compressive strength which is one of tungsten carbide properties, can achieve no slippage under extreme work conditions of high torque and low rolling speed. Occasionally, tungsten carbide composite rolls are designed differently from general structure following the special request of customers such as groove number, strand pitch, width of barrel part, and so on. This presentation shows the general structure of tungsten carbide composite rolls using hydraulic clamping system and the case study on the improvement of clamping mechanism for each requirement, for example when the width is not enough for many groove number required. Also, it shows the case study on strength complement for cantilever rolls by FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
