In the past 40 years the steel manufacturing has been encountered some typical transition what are milestones in its history. The changes from ingot casting to continuous casting and thin slab casting, the realization of direct hot charge of slabs/blooms, the development of effective secondary metallurgy etc. Such kind of technology makes the energy saving by steel production possible and the purity of steel products increased. Nowadays, it has been well recognized that high purity of steels is important for the modern steel types like Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and electric steels what are dominant materials for energy saving automobile and motors today and in the future. The modernizing of steel industry of Taiwan has been begun as China Steel Cooperation (CSC) founded around 40 years ago. The active role of CSC has contributed in the function of Taiwan Steel & Iron Industries Association (TSIIA) who has participated the foundation of SEAISI in 1971.
