Category - General Novel

Production of high-tensile rebars and other deformed-type long products for concrete reinforcement (such as ribbed wire rod and bar in coils), is a key issue for countries where the construction of buildings and infrastructures is growing. This type of product is even more important for geographical areas with high seismic activity. The ideal answer to these needs is the “Market-sized” rolling mill plant, with low/medium-scale output capacity “tailored” for the specific regional demand, but featuring the most advanced technologies for low-cost production of high-tensile commercial steel long products. The Danieli QTB, QTR and QTS processes, installed at the afore-mentioned rolling mills, are the most efficient and cost-saving tools available today to produce these types of steel. This article describes a typical “Market-sized” rolling mill, with particular emphasis on the afore-mentioned high-tensile rebar production processes.
