Godo Steel, Ltd. Osaka Works started at the place of current Osaka Works in 1937. Wire rods Mill was established in 1982 and main specification of rolling equipment is the mill of the 2 strands and finishing block Mill of the non twist type. Finishing speed is 90 m/sec, as for the productive capacity, 50,000 month tons, the low carbon steel wire rod are 55% and the bar in coil is 45%. Productivity of wire rods mill ensures our status as a frontrunner in Japan. Production process include electric arc furnace, LF and billets continuous casting machine. Our rolling method is direct rolling from small-section billets in the 130-mm corner. For upgrading products, strength of reduction gear in the roughing-mill has been increased by 40 percent in 2000, and finishing-mill was reorganized to the high-load type which enables cold rolling at and below 800°C in 2002. As a result, achievement was made in the cost phase with fuel reduction by 5%, and in the quality side with further soft annealing of low carbon steel wire rod.
