With the development of new advanced high-strength steels, especially for the automotive industry, new challenges have become evident when coil joining aauch steels in continuous process lines with conventional butt-welding machines. Laser coil joining is becoming the preferred method for coil strip joining. This work discusses the advantages and benefits of this relatively new technology and why it is the method of choice for new processing lines.
